The Maestro May, Call it a Day

The Maestro who had started his rich musical journey from the film 'Annakkili' and had now entered a new phase through his 'Thiruvasagam Symphony' may call it a day very soon.
It may not possible for any future Music director to fill the space left by the Jambavanas like M.S.V and Ilayaraja. This truth cannot be refuted by anybody. In that sense, nobody could accept this decision of Ilayaraja to retire and stop creating Music for films in the future

After the completion of his 'Thiruvasagam Symphony' work, Ilayaraja didn't show much enthusiasm to score music for films. The reason is said to be his spiritual inclinations. As if to prove this version as the correct one, in rare occasions where he had participated in functions of late, he talked more about spirituality than about anything else.

These kinds of talks made others to realize about the change in him. On the other hand, he had given away the chance to score music in films to either of his two sons. In this situation, he had also completed his long cherished dream of creating Symphony for 'Thiruvasagam'. That symphony cassette is going to be released soon.

After this work is over, Ilayaraja has decided to retire from scoring music for films. Ilayaraja is said have planned to invite his friends from Cine field and media persons and is going to announce his plan to retire.

Who would know what he is going to do after his retirement?

How can anyone expect any kind of quality from MIO write-ups? Anybody who wants more wrote-ups of similar or worse standards, please visit www.galatta.com, cinesouth.com and the like.

Anyway , coming back.... does come as a shocker cos he is not THAT old enough to retire.. I was at least expecting him to carry on the way he has doing for the last few years.... wud be rather interesting to see whom Kamal and Parthipan favour for the movies once Raaja abdicates his throne.

btw.. Jawad, u are simply brilliant!!! sathiyamaa daa.. I bow to thee!!

Dei I seriously duinno if u , Jawad, still haven't got the pun... in the context of the article the usage Jambavan means celebrity or very accomplished person. By puling a pun and turning M.S.V into Ms.V and linking with a Jambavan ( the monkey uncle of Hanuman) I thought u had made the ultimate pun of them all... or haven't u?????

If yes u are a genius.. if not , I am genius for having thought of such a connection.....

Bottomline.. this blog shud be privileged to have such ppl frequenting it...

Hey Girish,
Found out only today that you had moved your blog. Talking about Ilayaraja, do you know that he had done an album on "Vedic chanting?" Looking out for it...
