Ladies and Gentlemen..

Mark my words.
Here is a name that you will recognize much faster in the not too distant future. Touchwood.

R.Raghavendra it is.
He is presently doing an innocuous First year Visual Communication with the DG Vaishnav college of arts and science in Chennai. And the only reason he got in was that his uncle was/is the principal of the place.
But that is not wat is gonna make him a legend.
Sample this:

Vellai veLicham bhoomiyil vizhattum
kollai pona inbam meendum pirakkattum
nam kanngal kaaNum indha poRkaLam
oru swargam aagattum
indha ulagam marubadiyum piRakkattum
nam nenjathil poo pookkum

Bhoomiyai amaidhiyaai kaaNum kaalam kanavaa
manidhargal manidharaai maarum kaalam kanavaa
aayudhangaL azhindhu ange anbu kaRangal neeLumo
poRkalangal pudhaindhu ange punidha sthalangal thondrumo
varungaalam edhirkaalam porkaalamaagattum...

A verse written and set to music by this 17-yr old.
RR(as he is known to everyone who knows him), had me totally proud when I heard this song.
I will duly upload the song itself after adding some copyrights to it, and i promise you your jaw will drop.
Add to that a fast-growing carnatic career as a full-time vocalist, with some 100+ concerts (and having just completed the music for an animation film to be screened at the Tokyo Film Festival) under his belt, and winning the Ragamalika event on jaya tv under the watchful voice of SPB, and he begins to drift into unimaginable territory.
My prayers to the one up above to give RR good health and a long, long musical life.

I am a proud brother, yet again. (today happens to be Raaki day, so love to the other person i am so proud of.. Vidya)

Cheers!

ps :: next wil hav to write about the only person who brought tears to my eyes when leavin chennai for ahd..

Pala naall thirudan..

indru agappattaan.

prologue:
saturday:
my manac prof sings to me.." thoongaadhe thambi thoongadhe" after the manac lecture where he caught me in a state of blissful sleep...

T-Nite is going on.. (T-Talent).. Sleep is unheard of these days, except in the belowdiscussed situations..

Today was crucifying day..
3 lectures, 3 professors. 3 hours.
and 3 times. i got caught by the professor for sleeping in class.
First it was HRM.
Monday morning dark blues, i am driftin off, when a missile in the guise of a chalkpiece thuds into me. I went out and washed my face, with the prof thankfully taking it lightly, it being the first time i have been "caught napping" in his class..

WAC then.
As usual. The lady speaks so melodiously, almost like an air hostess, and wen it happened to me again, she said the usual "Girrish, Girrish, wake up...". and i did. till the end of class..

OM last.
I was sleepin open mouthed from wat i remember, and the prof must have called out to me twice or something ,coz wen i did hear him finally, it was a really loud "GIRISH! WAKE UP SOMEHOW!!!"... Thanking the heavens that he happened to be in a really good mood too, coz he was smiling and laughing away when i was lookin on, not knowing, yet again, wat expression to wear on my face...
Here is the clincher, and the signature of his "beyond-all-that"ness.
"Girish has been conveniently sleeping in at least SEVEN of the last 10 lectures..." laughter. and i laughed along too.. How magnanimous of him to abstain from disturbing my diurnal dreams for seven whole lectures.. Am still thankin God..

Which reminds me, i really have to catch some sleep in watever lil time i get now.. and hopefully stay awake when it matters...

ps :: Reminds me of an old post of mine..
