Nothing in particular and everything in general...

Just sitting down on my computer after a heavy dinner composed mainly of thayir saadham with 'adaimaangaai' - a variant of maangaa oorgaa made with some kinda dry mango or something. This is simply my all time thayir saadhathukku thottukka favorite.. And only my paatti {now no more} knew the menu. My athais {2 of them} try and still make some adaimaangaai occasionally for me.. Thanks to them, on the record.

Over the last 3 days, whenever i have had time, i have gone on a 'crane-my-neck-and-look-at-some-distant-invisible-nothing' spree.. And everytime, it has been thoughts about how much life is going to change in exactly 6 days from now. No denying that i am beginning to get sentimental about chennai and all that it has held for me all these years..

I visited PSBB (my school, for the ignorant reader) and had a delightful time. With a 'media-shy' J, a just-passed-out from school sister, and her 483-on-500 classmate and soulmate, it was so good to simply be there, and watch all the drama unfolding inside those hallowed gates that Munuswamy once used to guard.. Michael - the other watchman- was still spotted there.. Sankar sir, the physics lab assistant, rememberd me and proudly told me about the completion of his 25th year at school. he looks 40 and is 51 it seems. Perumaiyaa irundhudhu ennamo enakku... Lime juice (5 bucks) at the new improved psbb canteen was delicious in the heat...Lots and lots of teachers remembered the puny short guy in school, who they were surprised to see standing at 6'1" with his agathiya maa munivar beard.. Anand bakery underlined the visit, signin off in typical old times style..

Apart from that, have not done anything but ABCD for the past 4-5 days..

Swetha consented to help out, and my thanks are due to her. Went out to lunch after that with Swetha, J and Prasanna. Will remember that lunch(except that i had to shell out 245 bucks..). Swetha has been plannin a surprise party for me i came to understand ,when she mistakenly sent me the sms that she was supposed to send to mahesh. Am supposed to act surprised at the party when it does happen, as things stand now..

Am sure I will write another blog before i say tata to chennai..
That ringtone that i talked about in my last post is simply so special... Somehow, i keep listenin to it all the time...

Tamilselvi called all the way from sweden. And damn, when the call got cut, and she called again, i was inside the house with lots of visitors, and could not speak properly at all.. Am sorry i wasted that call from u tamil, but call panninadhuku mikka nandri.. unnoda kalyanathuku epdiyaanum vandhudaren in december..

With Bk gone too, chennai definitely feels incomplete. My world for the past 4 days revolves around J, RR, Prasanna, Sriram, vasanth, Raamaa, Barath (all names male there!), and sms contact with divya, swetha, suja, sujatha, paru...

And yeah. A paid me a visit. and this time too, she didnt get to come inside, and had to sweat it out under the heat of the sun and more (as she writes in her blog, http://aishwaryarao.blogspot.com) lol.. aazham edhu aiyyaa.. andha pombala manasu dhaanyaa.. not for nothing have they been traditionally saying that a woman is difficult to decipher.. Life is a comedy..

And after that highly incoherent entry, am gonna go sleep. And hopefully dream of something good, or someone special.

;)

At least once a week I go through a "I miss Oman" phase. Nothing sucks more than leaving home. I know I'm not being of much help here, but your post just reminded me that I want to go back home :(

nostalgia.....tops the list.... I am also referriing to a certain musical composition of a musician turned music composer turned movie maker turned......

no visit to Chennai has ever been complete without a visit to dear old PSBB.... even without anybody for company..jus content to go there and walk around..it's managed to keep me enthralled for hrs together....reliving everything..right from primary school.... spent a good amount of time jus standing on the corridor and looking out onto the ground...those times of cricket and football...
though got a not-so-friendly ticking off from the present Principal for taking fotos during my Dec. visit to ischool..even after having introduced myself as an alumni...Giri batch-mate...makki friend - cos she is a relative of Makki..( and U.S return...;) some new rule..no more fotography within school campus..found it totally ridiculous when she made it sound PSBB look like Pentagon made over... don't they realise they are actually putting off alumni....( not that I will ever be put off though...)

but even that didnt spoil the afternoon....the magic of PSBB will never cease...ppl might change...

I am going Sab s way (very rarely though) - bulleting...donno the decorum of commenting to blog entries - am jus pennin as I feel thus -
1. Dei Sab, as Makki said, it DEFNTLY was moving, this un but I dont understand why it should...b cos I felt when u went to S'pore was the moment you would have found it much more difficult, particularly the week before leaving, what with a lot more "closer" guys arnd u to see u off - Ranga, makki and myself(cycle gapla ;))...this time though, u r travelling to just-2-hrs-away-Ahmedabad and u ve got only J to see u off...
therla, mebbe as we mature, we tend to "think" a lot more - that s good - I ob dont deny that.

Cheers mate...*tha koothu adi daa...

ps - very proud to be singled out in the entry - shall save it... :)
